Girls Water Polo: Claire Machado

Jasmine Lozano, Reporter

Girls Water polo:

Claire Machado

Claire is a four year varsity starter. She can play any position. She is our top scorer and one of our best defenders. She is a team captain, has a GREAT attitude, and is always looking for ways to improve. I’m looking for her to help us win our fourth league championship in our seven year history.

Boys Water polo:

Will Winter

Will is our “hole guard,” probably the hardest position in water polo. He’s fast and understands the game. He is dedicated, always at practice and works hard. He has a great attitude, and is always helping with the new players. A team captain and a true leader.

Volleyball:

Mia Salinas

As our setter on the court, she has the hardest role to fill not only as a player but as a leader. The setter is involved in every single play, and her athleticism allows her to do that well. She is consistent and a solid leader on the court for us. She keeps her teammates accountable and stretches beyond her limits to allow our team to do things we’ve never done before. Her improvement these past three years has been exponential, and we continue to raise our expectations for her as she reaches that next bar set.

Girls Tennis:

Emily Sanchez

She’s undefeated in singles, making her #1. She’s come a long way with her mental game and playing tennis the way we always knew she could.

Cross Country:

Chris Rosas and Carlos Avendano

They are both very good leaders and extremely competitive. They set good examples by being hardworking and always doing their best.
