Why Santa Paws is Great-Watch

By Lovleen Sahota

From black-and-white favorites like “It’s a Wonderful Life” to family-friendly holiday films like Will Ferell’s Elf. There is arguably nothing more holiday-like than watching holiday movies. Our brains feel a sense of relaxation and connection back to our happiest memories watching these movies–even if we can’t make it home for Christmas ourselves this year, or even if we don’t take part in holiday traditions anymore. Such movies can provide solace, reaffirmation, and sometimes even courage to continue working through difficult situations.
Movies like “Jingle all the Way,” “Deck the Halls” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” center around the idea that the true meaning of Christmas is not in rampant consumerism but in goodwill and family love. Whether we are trying to get ourselves in the mood for the holidays or simply just want to feel like a kid again, there’s no better way to do that than to watch a Christmas movie. Since so many of the themes in these movies tend to deal with themes about connection — families being together, reconnecting with someone you’ve lost touch with — it’s an easy way to make people think about the loved ones in their lives and how they could connect in a more meaningful way.
Grab a cup of warm hot cocoa and some Kleenex and buckle up, because films like “The Family Stone,” “Klaus” and “The Search for Santa Paws” are sure to melt your heart. ‘Santa Paws’ has been a staple in my household since 2010 when it was first released. An emotional, action-packed, and altogether touching and heart-tugging film. One tragic day Santa is hit by a cab and doesn’t remember who he is. Yes, Santa is struck with amnesia and his loyal companion, Paws (a dog) begins a search to bring Santa back.
Even though I’m not a little child anymore, this movie nevertheless continues to touch my heart deeply.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and Your Attention

By Nico Colado

You can’t enjoy the holidays without your favorite movies. This varies for everyone, with some popular choices being Home Alone or Santa Paws. However, the best Christmas movie of all time has to be How The Grinch Stole Christmas.
Do you enjoy comedy? How about a heartwarming theme? These are only a few of the great attributes showcased in this film. In this live-action adaptation of Dr. Seuss’ iconic tale, what seems only possible in a child’s imagination is brought to life. If you aren’t busy being amazed by the pleasing scenery then you’re definitely entertained by Jim Carrey’s performance as the Grinch. In the film, The Grinch attempts to ruin Christmas for all of Whoville, which is a crime unimaginable for the citizens. He later achieves this through stealing everything holiday related. However, he realizes his grave mistake and returns everything bringing joy back to the town. This film is not only an entertaining movie, it’s a lesson that can be implied in everyone’s lives. We all make mistakes, but it’s up to ourselves whether we fix them or not.
Some might argue that the movie is basic, although that claim might be true, it still doesn’t affect its status. Similar to saying Drake is the best musical artist, it’s a common response, but it’s still arguably true. Why is this movie so popular? Not only is it one of Dr. Seuss’ most famous story tales, it’s ranked fourth in highest-grossing Christmas films, take that Santa Paws. Besides its very high income, the film includes several talented actors such as Jim Carrey, Taylor Momsen and Christine Baranski.
Undoubtedly, the best thing about this film is that anyone can watch and enjoy it. Whether you’re a child or adult, this movie brings laughter and inspiration that not all movies can accomplish. So the next time you’re relaxing at home browsing through movies to binge, How The Grinch Stole Christmas is one well worth watching.
