As the softball season progresses, the team is pleased to see pre-season work being displayed on the field. Weeks swung by, and they’ve improved their skills and grown closer, entering themselves into a memorable season. The team’s hard work during pre-season and the effort they put in early set them up to have a good season.
“I definitely took time to improve my defense skills, and it shows on the field when I make plays,” sophomore Allyson Tapia shares.
Pre-season is a time for players to prepare for the league and to place themselves in a well-minded atmosphere. So, when they go into the league, they aren’t as drained or tired since they had pre-season to get a routine going.
Athletes focused on their weak spots to further improve their technique and meet their personal goals, making 1st team all league or making it to playoffs. Results have shown an overall score of 14-3 as of Saturday, Mar 28, 2026.
Not only is the team’s work being recognized during games, but the environment they have created for each other is being revealed louder than words could explain.
Senior Jayleen Sisavanh expresses, “We’ve all played together since we were little, so our chemistry is all there, which makes tightening up areas easier.”
Teamwork is a key component of their success in past games. Student-athletes say that their collaboration and unity have always been present, stemming from their childhood. Players have a unique connection because they’ve seen each other grow up and become not only who they are as athletes but also who they are as people.
“We all love each other very much, and that makes it a very fun environment,” Tapia says, “We all have a special connection with one another.”
This transparent bond means that players are quick to offer encouragement and support, even during tough moments in a game. Whether it’s a loud cheer from the dugout or a quick word of advice between innings, the support is constant.
“My motivation to keep improving would be my teammates, we push each other to be the best we can,” Sisavanh explains.
The varsity softball team’s current season showcases the results of their pre-season preparation and the unity they have maintained. The commitment to self-improvement and achieving goals as a team has resulted in a 14-3 record, emphasizing their dedication. Beyond the scoreboard, the team’s atmosphere, where encouragement and support are clear, is an additional win. Players are excited to see how this season will all play out.
“This season’s going to be amazing!” Allyson Tapia expresses.
