As the weather changes Jannel Caballer, a junior at Selma High, is wearing more long sleeves and trying to get into cardigans. In this picture, she’s wearing black cargo pants with a white top and AF1s. She also loves to see people wearing Uggs for the upcoming winter. Although Nike is her overall favorite brand, Jannel shops at Garage, H&M, and Cotton On.
She explained that she tries to make her outfits more school-appropriate, keeping the dress code in mind when she shops and as she gets ready in the morning.
Junior Nelly Rubio is switching to mom and boyfriend-style jeans with sneakers as the weather cools down. She wants to start wearing more fall colors like brown and red and loves wearing bootcut Miss Me jeans for winter. In the summer, she’s more likely to pair shorts with Birkenstocks than sneakers.
Spring is the hardest season to dress for in Nelly’s opinion because of the changing temperature, but she knows she can wear a lot of knit sweaters for fall and winter. Her favorite places to shop include American Eagle, Zara, Abercrombie, and Hollister.
Mrs. Carrillo loves oversized sweaters and colors like brown, orange, and beige, for fall. She associates winter with cool colors like blues and blacks. When the weather is gloomy she wears bright ensembles to add sunshine back into her day. Spring and summer mean sundresses and florals for her.
She always keeps it professional at school and dresses more relaxed on the weekends.
“I don’t normally wear stuff out of the ordinary or not fitting to work,” she says, but she loves dressing out of her norm to get into the school spirit. In this picture, she’s dressed for the 2003 Hoco dress-up day.
