Ending the school year, my final piece of advice to you is accepting each event for what it is. I encourage you to move past old habits, old situations, and in all things, work on growing as an individual. I know I’ve talked about moving on from others, and letting go, but this isn’t about others; it’s about personal growth. Instead of focusing on your mistakes, allow your positive attributes to shine through.
While the school year may have had its ups and downs, I believe ending the year strong with personal gratitude and appreciation calls for new beginnings to emerge. Seeing how previous people or events shaped you and your year, I motivate you to reflect, to see how you can grow beyond the pain and suffering brought on by difficult circumstances, and instead allow yourself to learn and adapt for what the future entails.
While easier said than done, personal growth takes accountability, reflection, and understanding. Looking back on the events that brought clarity or misfortune, take the time to see what positive changes each event brought you. While I understand certain aspects may have only brought painful feelings, those very feelings can allow you to depart from reoccurring hurtful events in the future. Though personal growth doesn’t come easy, simply acknowledging how far you’ve come as an individual captures the essence of the beauty in life. Life without mistakes and hardships means a life without successes and triumph. The next time you’re hard on yourself, remind yourself that each situation is meant to happen. From failing an exam, to losing a friendship/relationship, each moment in which encountering suffering only means greater happiness awaits.
Even as it may be challenging to see beyond the toughest moments throughout the year, you can admit how far you’ve come. Striving through each day, regardless of what pain may have been inflicted onto you, or what unfortunate circumstances brought you, seeing how you carried yourself with dedication and strength alone is worth noting. I want to remind you you’re worthy. Regardless of what the year held for you, you pushed through, so finish strong, allow yourself to be content with your journey, and see exactly the power you hold. The future is what you make, so dream big, have hope for all around, and carry yourself with beauty and grace. Seek a better future while learning from your past, seeing as the future never waits but instead calls you to keep going.
