Nine times out of ten I will stop my mindless scrolling to admire the “Outfit of the Day” videos on my screen. I find myself scanning the creator of the clips from their hairdo to the shoes they’re wearing.
Presenting our personalities through the articles of clothing we wear and being able to post it for others to see is the greatest thing ever. The amount of outfit inspiration I gain from OOTD’s on TikTok is wild, I quite literally have a folder named “inspo” on my TikTok account and scroll through it when I feel the sudden blast to enhance my wardrobe. I swear I have style guys, I simply don’t have the coin for it.
I especially love getting OOTD’s on my “fyp” because if I fall in love with a piece of clothing, I can easily comment and ask where the person bought it from. What’s even better is when someone already asked and the creator already provided the exact store. Score!
Seeing girls my age post their outfits daily is so cool because I either see myself in their style or take notes off their new looks. Looking up looks for specific events is also one of the greatest tools they EVER provide, in my opinion. It helps me see clothing similar to what I’m thinking of wearing and ways to enhance it. Or if I genuinely have no clue what to wear to an event, it gives me somewhere to start. They ultimately help me style things in ways I would’ve never thought of, making me love what I’m wearing more.
When asking friends if they pay attention to the OOTD’s on their social media, they answer with the same admiration I have.
“They’re a big help when picking out my outfit for days I don’t know what to wear. They’re so entertaining for me to watch,” says senior Bella Guerra.
OOTD’s are also a great help when you’re contemplating buying any sort of accessory but are unsure how to style it or make great use of it. You can easily search up the item and a number of videos load instantly. And that, my friends, is why I call the “OOTD” trend an absolute life saver.
