The 2024-2025 boys water polo season has officially come to an end. Even after their first round exit from playoffs, they have proven that they are a strong, united team. Given the fact that they have never made playoffs before in previous years, it is a huge accomplishment.
“Making playoffs was exciting, and it was a change in history,” said junior Buddy Causer, a varsity player. This being the first time in history proves to be especially exciting for the players.
“Being able to make playoffs was exciting, but felt a little intimidating facing opponents that we never went against before this season,” added Irving Vejar-Sosa, another junior on varsity.
Both players made sure to mention the strong bonds that were made during this season. They felt as though this years’ bonds were stronger than the previous years that they have played.
“The bonds I built were very strong because I went from not knowing many of my teammates, to then considering them as a close friend, or even a brother,” explained Irving.
Irving explained some of the main takeaways he had from this season and how impactful this season was for him.
“I learned that not everything is given to you, but you need to work for what you want so that you can achieve that,” Irving explained.
Finally, they wanted to give out advice for anyone who would like to try out for water polo in the future.
“Honestly, just come out, and try to see if you like the sport or not,” Irving stated, “It is a very enjoyable sport.”
“Just have fun,” Buddy added.
