This month there were 2 flavor of the months: Blossom’s Berry Twirl and Blue’s Boardwalk Bash. I tried out Blossom’s Berry Twirl, let me just say there was 1 berry: strawberry. It was practically just strawberry ice cream with rainbow sprinkles and sugar cookie dough bits. It didn’t live up to its name, with the one berry and all but that flavor was pretty artificial. The bits were hard and I had no idea that sugar cookie dough bits were supposed to taste like cardboard. I didn’t love it, but I didn’t hate it either (aside from the little bits).
Reviewing this for the last time as an Editor in Chief for the Clarion, I had hoped for something a little more exciting but I would rate this a 4/10.
I hope you guys have liked my ice cream reviews this year. It’s been lovely, but now I will hand the titles over to the newest Editors In Chief, Kim Bojorquez and Yarektzy Navarro. 🙂

There were two flavors for the month of May. The one I tried was called Blues Boardwalk Bash. A very interesting name for a VERY interesting ice cream flavor. It was blueberry flavored ice cream, had oreo cookie pieces, and had blue cotton candy swirls. This is probably the most unpleasant ice cream flavor I have ever tried, IN MY OPINION. I only took one bite and left it at that. The only good part was the oreo pieces…therefore I would rate it a 1/10.
A Scoop of Imagination

Baskin Robbins flavor of the month was inspired by the new movie “IF” which is now playing in theaters. I tried the flavor “Blue’s Boardwalk Bash” which is based off the character “Blue”, an imaginary purple monster. The creativity behind the ice cream added to the overall experience, however I was not a fan of the flavors themselves. The ice cream was a vibrant purple color and included Oreo chunks as well as cotton candy swirls. The ice cream had an intense artificial flavor and overall was a bit sweet for my liking. Although the ice cream is not my personal favorite, I think it accomplished its goal of capturing an ice cream a child could imagine. Some things are better off left in the imagination as I would rate “Blues Boardwalk Bash” a 4/10.
A Scoop of Blue Magic

I sampled the “Blues Boardwalk Bash” flavor from Baskin Robbins, which is this month’s new flavor. It’s inspired by the recently released children’s movie “IF.” Its color is unusually blue and violet to begin with. To be honest, the color and the fact that it has cookie pieces which I like drew me in. I tasted the first scoop and immediately noticed a strong hint of lavender (don’t ask how I know what lavender tastes like). It was strange at first, but you grow used to it. The flavor of the lavender was really taking over, so it was almost like there was cotton candy mixed into it, but not quite. It was also not extremely sweet, which is a plus because I’m not a fan of ice cream that is too sweet. I would rate it a 6/10 because it was unusual even though it wasn’t the nicest ice cream I’ve ever tasted.
