Selma High’s Baseball team has a current record of 12-14 overall and a 6-5 in the Tri-Country-Sequoia Division. As the season comes to a close the team hopes to end the season on a high note with a win against Exeter at home.
Throughout the season not only the players but the coaches have improved on many things within the game.
Coach Hollett staying together or playing together means not letting your teammates down and being there for your teammates, whether that’s if the team is winning by Landslide or if the team is down by a few runs.
“The team aspect of it [the game] trying to focus on staying together,” Coach Hollett stated.
As the season comes to a close one of the most important things the coaches are doing is making sure the team stays together and has a together team mentality.
Make sure to help your teammates and stay accountable for what you and your teammates do.
Along with that as the season comes to a close the seniors on the baseball team play their last games with their selma bears high school team.
Senior Matthew Mora had a positive outlook on the end of this season.
“One of the ways we can end the season on a positive note is to sweep out the competition[Kingsburg, Exeter,] as well as winning league,” he stated,
“Throughout the season we faced a lot of negativity that we had to overcome as a team,” senior Aiden Alvarado stated.
From losses to other teams, and even individually bad games the team has learned to grow and learn from their mistakes.
As the season comes to a close the whole team overall has a positive outlook to finish strong. The team is sad to say goodbye to its seniors. However, they are excited to see what the new years and season have in store for them.
