Hello everyone!! I see you are back for more of my thoughts on makeup, hopefully you have gotten a chance to try out some of the products I’ve listed in the previous reviews. I have plenty more here for you. Moving onto the topic of concealer, using a shade or two lighter than the rest of your base can help highlight your undereyes, which are sure to be dark since we’re all staying up finishing homework. However don’t worry, the NYX Bare With Me Concealer is a great product I would recommend. I like to apply it with a concealer brush, and just blot it onto the areas without worrying too much about blending. Under my eyes, around my nose since there is a bit of redness, and along the bridge of my nose. I then go in with a hydrating setting spray to make the blend easier with a dry beauty blender.
Eyeshadow: I have only ever used palettes from Colourpop but they come in so many different formulas and shades I love them. They work wonderfully for me and are affordable. My favorite palette has to be the By the Rosé palette. It’s pink and shimmery. I use it whenever I feel like doing a simple eyeshadow look. The eyeshadow primer I love is the Ulta Beauty Matte Eye primer. It works great as a base for the powders, and prevents creasing or oils from moving or breaking down my eyeshadow. My all time favorite shimmer eyeshadow topper is the E.L.F Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow in the shade Disco Queen. If you only buy one product I’ve mentioned today it HAS to be this glitter. It goes beautifully over any eyeshadow, or even on your bare lid.
Highlighter is probably one of my favorite parts of makeup, I use the NYX Wonder Cream Highlight and Contour stick, shade medium. The highlighter is an easy to use beautiful everyday shimmer. I blend it out with my fingertip, perfect for the tip of the nose and inner corners of the eyes. As for the contour, it’s a bit warm and is more of a bronzer than contour to me, I don’t use it very often. I recently got the E.L.F Camo Liquid Blush in the shade Dusty Rose. It worked so beautiful and lasted all day, definitely used with caution, as it is highly pigmented. I would recommend dabbing a bit on your hand or palette, dipping your brush, and then applying it to your face.
Mascara: I have tried several mascaras and they were always either too clumpy, flaked all over my face, or were too difficult to remove at the end of the day. But my absolute favorite has to be the Ulta Beauty Lash Flash mascara. It’s a tubing mascara, and that means it comes off much cleaner and easier than other mascaras. As it creates a “tube” of mascara around your lash. It gives me that “manga” lash style that I’ve seen many people try to achieve with false lashes online. If you are not looking for a tubing mascara, a great option is the Fenty Beauty Hella Thick Mascara. It beautifully lengthens and thickens your lashes, lasting all day without flaking all over your face.
Eyeliner: If you remember me in sophomore year you probably never saw my eyes, since they were probably covered with Nars Climax Liquid Eyeliner. That was my introduction to makeup and let’s just say..I definitely had a lot to learn. It was definitely overpriced, and worked the same as the E.L.F Expert Liquid Eyeliner I use now. It honestly works much better than the Nars one, and is more affordable. If you are a beginner I would definitely not recommend liquid eyeliners. They are tricky to perfect so I’d say to start out with eyeliner pencils or using eyeshadow with an angled brush as eyeliner, or possibly those eyeliner stamps.
Now after you’re done reading, drive immediately to the closest makeup store and test these out for yourself. Bring The Clarion with you as a guide. Have fun experimenting with different looks!
