Yuritze Machado is a junior at Selma High who had begun her business “Arreglos By Yuri ” in the beginning of September 2023 and never looked back. Machado first began her interest in working with flowers in floral design and wanted to continue this interest of hers outside of school.
“I wanted the opportunity to make more arrangements”,says Machado.
Machado’s arrangements vary from the customer’s request. A majority of the arrangements are bouquets, centerpieces, and vase arrangements. No matter the size or wrapping style of the arrangement Machado works on, she puts a great deal of time and effort into her work.
“If it’s a small bouquet it could take 40 minutes from start to finish. That involves preparing the flowers, shaping, and wrapping. However it changes with every arrangement as well as prices”, says Machado.
When purchasing arrangements from Machado approachability and flexibility could be considered key selling points. Machado believes approaching her as a customer should be no concern as she is educated about her business and friendly. With time Machado has no problem with staying flexible on arrangements as her customer service is always a priority.
“My favorite thing about owning a business is getting out of my comfort zone and being able to do more of what I enjoy”, explains Machado.
