If I’m being honest with you, I have had many embarrassing experiences including one with one of my crushes…but let’s not get into that.
Anywho, one vivid experience that has been printed into my mind has to be the one time I WAS DROWNING ALL BECAUSE I TRIED TO SEEM COOL.Yes it may sound dramatic but trust me it will all make sense.
It was June 2012, I was about 6 years old and super optimistic that my sister was taking me to Wild Waters, a water park. I mean, what 6 year old wouldn’t be excited to go swim, especially if you’re like me who absolutely hates the heat and can’t stand it at all.
Well once we arrived at the park, my sister and I decided to go into the wave pool, where you could chill with waves coming in once a while.
There were different types of heights and I decided to go towards the 4 feet area as I was 4’7 and didn’t want to take any bold risks..
However, the most gorgeous, handsome, tall, masculine guy, a Chris Evans doppelganger lifeguard caught my attention. Then the idea of trying to get his attention came to me.. ITrying to seem “cool,” I moved up to the 6 feet range. YES I KNOW I WAS DUMB BUT I WAS DELUSIONAL THINKING HE WOULD NOTICE ME (I’m always delusional).
As I slowly made my way to my sister, my feet started to have trouble reaching the bottom of the floor. Nervously, I grasped on to the edge of the pool as I made my way to the very back.
All that time my eyes were on the target, Mr. Evans from Walmart was in my mind, and I didn’t notice that the most horrific wave flopped right on top of me.
As I looked up, roughly, I was pushed towards the bottom of the water. I opened my eyes and mouth attempting to go up for air, but that’s when I saw my greatest enemy’s feet pushing me even further down.
All that was going on in my mind was “yup that’s it, I’m dead.” I felt my eyes slowly close when I felt my body being pulled up and as soon as I opened my eyes IT WAS THE GUY. When I tell you I wanted to bury myself so deep from the embarrassment, I WAS SCREAMING INSIDE. His crystal blue eyes and soft blond hair distracted me from paying attention to what he was asking. It finally clicked to me and all I said was “Oh, no, no, I’m ok, thank you.” Keep in mind my sister was there but didn’t notice what happened till I disappeared, so she felt bad and asked if I wanted to get ice cream.
Although I put myself through all of that, I did get his attention didn’t I? Word of advice, don’t be delusional and try to seem cool by risking your chances of getting hurt.
