The End of -what it felt like- An Eternity

Lovleen Sahota, Co-Editor in Chief/Editorial Editor

In halls of learning, where time stands still,
I forged memories, some vivid, some still.
A time of growth, a time of strife,
A time of laughter, a time of life.
As a freshman, I was shy and unsure,
But high school had a lot in store.
Through clubs, sports, and friendships formed,
I found my voice, my passion, my norm.

I remember the football games, the pep rallies,
The noise, the cheers, the teenage dallies.
The thrill of victory, the sting of defeat,
The memories etched in my heart, so sweet.

And then there were the late-night studies,
The cramming, the notes, the endless worries.
The tests, the exams, the sleepless nights,
The feeling of relief when the grades were right.

But high school was more than just academics,
It was a time of growth, of finding our limits.

As a senior, I look back with fondness and grace,
At the memories we’ve shared in this sacred space.
I’ll miss the teachers, the friends, the halls,
The memories we’ve made, the bonds that enthrall.

So as we prepare to take on the world,
I’ll treasure these moments, these memories unfurled.
For high school has shaped me, molded me well,
A journey of growth, a story to tell.

Never had I ever imagined myself to be writing a senior feature story for the Clarion. Looking back at my 13-year-old freshman self’s uncertainty, I can gladly say that “We’re Graduating!!!”
As I sit here, reflecting back on my time in high school, it’s hard not to feel nostalgic. It seems like just yesterday I was a freshman, wide-eyed and excited for all the new experiences ahead of me. And now, as a senior, I can’t help but marvel at how much I’ve grown and how high school has shaped me into the person I am today.
When I first entered high school, I was unsure of myself and my place in the world. Teeter-tottering through classes and clubs. But as the years went by, I began to find my balance.
Of course, high school wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows. There were moments of heartbreak, disappointment, and frustration. But even in these tough times, I learned the value of resilience and the importance of leaning on my support system. Whether it was my family, my friends, or my teachers, I’m grateful for always having someone to turn to when times got tough.
Looking back on it all, I can say with certainty that high school has shaped me into a stronger, more confident, and more compassionate person. It’s been a rollercoaster ride of highs and lows, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. All I know is the person I’m becoming, wouldn’t have been possible without these past four years. I’m beyond terrified to meet the woman I’ll become tomorrow. Despite the fear, that she will thrive and she will learn that the life she’s earned is nothing if not her own.
