My Forever Inspiration
February 28, 2023
Many things have influenced me into the person I am today, my personality, and how I present myself. Even how I strive for my goals when things seem to be impossible. However, I can truly say that the one thing that influenced me the most would be my mom, Ramandeep Gill.
My mom has always been my number one inspiration and supporter. Growing up, I saw the amazing qualities and traits that my mom had that I hope to take on. To me, my mom is one of the most powerful and confident women I know, due to everything she has overcome and achieved in life.
My mom immigrated to America at 19 shortly after marrying my dad, possessing little to no English-speaking capability.
She came here with almost nothing and had no idea what to expect. She came here to give my siblings and I a better life. Through this time she overcame many challenges and problems that were thrown her way.
For as long as I can remember, my mom has always been so determined as a worker and as a mom. I know that if my mom wants something she will do anything to get it.
When her kids need something, she won’t hesitate to drop what she is doing for them.
Seeing how independent she was and how strong she was to get through the things in life, inspired me to be the person I am today.
My mom always pushes me to be the best version of myself I can be. She keeps me from floating away in my thoughts and getting consumed in my own life. Whenever I have a problem she’s always so quick to help me and make sure I’m okay.
My mom not only shaped me as a person but my morals as well. She would always talk about treating everyone with respect no matter what. She dislikes when people talk negatively about others which leads to her favorite saying “Don’t hear bad, don’t say bad.” This saying is now one of my main principles in life.
I am forever thankful to my mom for pushing me to be the person I am today. She has taught me some of the most important life lessons I could have learned. She is the best role model I could’ve asked for to push myself to be a better person every day.
