Peanut Blossoms: An Incredibly Good Taste

What is your favorite cookie? For me, it’s peanut blossoms. How can you not love peanut butter? Unless you are allergic to peanuts, then that’s unfortunate…however, if you aren’t, then this is a recipe for you!

 

  • Ingredients    –

1 bag of Hersey’s Kisses

½ cup shortening

¾ cup Reese’s creamy or crunchy peanut butter

⅓ cup of granulated sugar

⅓ cup of packed light brown sugar

1 egg

2 tablespoons of milk

1 teaspoon of vanilla 

1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon of baking soda

½ teaspoon of salt

Granulated sugar

  • Directions    –
  1. Heat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Remove wrappers from chocolate pieces
  3. In a large mixer bowl, beat shortening and peanut butter until it is well blended
  4. Add ⅓ cup of granulated sugar and brown sugar, beat until light and fluffy
  5. Add egg, milk, vanilla, and beat well
  6. Separately stir together flour, baking soda, and salt
  7. Gradually add flour mixture to the peanut butter mixture
  8. Shape dough into 1-inch balls
  9. Roll in granulated sugar, place on an ungreased cookie sheet
  10. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned
  11. Immediately place a chocolate piece onto each cookie
  12. Let it cool completely before eating

 

Yields: 4 dozen cookies
