I know our holiday season has looked quite different this year. We’ve missed out on spending time with family, hanging out with friends, special traditions, and celebrating outside of our homes, but who said we can’t find unique ways to celebrate during a pandemic? Valentine’s Day is just a couple days away, but lucky for you, here are some ideas to help get you excited and prepared to show others (and yourself!) just how much you love them.

– Backyard Movie Night –

Transform your backyard into an outdoor movie theater! Set up decorations, invite your friends and family, but make sure to physically distance & wear a mask!

– You will have to invest in a projector, but Amazon has great options that you can get lots of use out of

– Don’t forget the snacks! Make individual snack bags or have guests bring their own.

– Pick a movie, snuggle up in a blanket, and enjoy the show!

– Door Gift Drop-Off –

Show your friends or loved one you haven’t forgotten about them by leaving a special gift on their doorstep.

– Fill a gift bag with snacks, goodies, or homemade treats

– Write a valentine for that special someone (awe, cute)

– If you want to go all out, leave balloons too!

– Family-Only Valentine’s Day –

If you don’t want to venture outside your home, there are still ways to celebrate with just your family.

– Leave kind notes for your parents or siblings in places they’ll see (i.e. the bathroom mirror, their bedroom door, or on their pillow)

– Set aside family time to play a game, watch a movie, or make something yummy!

– Fancy Dinner –

Just because there aren’t many places to dine-in doesn’t mean you can’t have a fancy Valentine’s Day dinner at home!

– Order take-out from your favorite restaurant or make a homemade meal

– Get dressed up! You might have to force your siblings, but it’s so much more exciting.

– Set the table with Valentine’s Day decor and bon appétit!

– Self-Care Day –

You don’t have to have a significant other to celebrate. Show yourself some love!

– Have a spa day: do a face mask (guys can do these too!), do your nails, or take a bubble bath

– Binge watch your favorite show or movie

– Get out of your comfort zone by baking or cooking something new!

– Soak up the sun by spending time outside (it brightens your mood and makes you feel so much better!)

Take some of these ideas and make your quarantine Valentine’s Day the most memorable one yet!
